About Miracles

When God acts supernaturally and grants us a miracle,
He does so to draw us closer to Him.
This is a lifelong process, not an event.
The miracle is not only what’s been granted but the change inside us.

So when He grants our prayer,
let us remember this is to beckon us closer,
a step to take, among many more in our lifetime.

The above thoughts came to me as I was listening to current news.

An item on social media claimed that a certain outcome was a miracle, supposedly brought about by the prayers of millions who had gathered to ask God for it. However, this viewpoint was not shared by a different set of millions of others.

That made me wonder. What about the prayers of others? I can imagine the conflicting petitions that must have arrived at heaven’s door.

God knows much more than us, and His thoughts are beyond our comprehension.

Yes, this may be a miracle. But it’s not the outcome that is, but what is happening in people’s hearts. And this is just the beginning of many steps.

People are moving from their comfortable seats to their knees, re-discovering the God of love and justice who wants to be part of their lives; not just experienced one hour on Sundays; not the one read from a page; nor the character heard from childhood stories.

The miracle is what we don’t see. The long, difficult road ahead will birth many miracles – miracles of the heart.

If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

What do you think about this? I would like to hear from you.
